Cable is specified before it is priced. Conductor size and class, number of cores, voltage rating, armour type, insulation grade, sheath colour and the test certification a site will accept all change what is correct for the job, and getting any of them wrong makes a delivery unusable. Prices move with copper. Conductor metal is the bulk of the cost of most power cable, and it is a traded commodity, so a figure quoted one week is not a figure that holds the next. Quantity matters too: full drums, cut lengths and part-drum cuts price differently, and delivery to a specific site is part of the number.
